We frequently get clients who are deciding between lash extensions and a lash

lift and tint. They know they want to do something with their lashes but they aren't sure which service suits them or their lifestyle the best. There are a few things to consider:

Your Personal Style: Lash extensions can be as natural or as dramatic as you'd like them to be. They can support a no make or full make up look but they are definitely a style choice. While your typical classic lash set is meant to look like you're just wearing amazing mascara, they are still longer than your natural lash and typically a little bit more bold.

A lash lift and tint is simply just enhancing your actual lashes making them pop with a deeper tint color and elongating them by choosing a curl that suits your eye shape and lash type. That being said, they can only look as long, bold and dramatic as your natural lashes allow.

Time & Cost: Lash extensions start at $173 for a full set and this typically takes 2 -3 hours. From there you need to plan on coming in for maintenance fills every 2-3 weeks which runs $63 to $95 depending on if a 60 minute or 90 minute fill is required.

Lash lift and tint starts at $69 and only takes about and hour and a half. Your lift will usually last 4-6 weeks sometimes more, and you can come in for a tint refresh in-between that but it's not always needed.

Post Care & Lifestyle: Both lash extensions and your lash lift must be kept cool and dry for the first 24 hours post treatment for best results. From there, lash extensions typically last their longest and maintain their best retention if regular swimming, hot showers, saunas, excessive heat from the stove or boiling water and any oil based products are avoided. You will also need to invest in a lash cleansing kit (about $15) so you can cleanse your lashes daily. You will want to avoid rubbing your eyes or using mascara on your lash extensions as this will break down the glue bond and can damage the natural lash).

After the first 24 hours, your lash lift is pretty much set. You do want to avoid excessive oil based products or regular exposure to chlorine swimming pools (this can break down the lift faster or add additional chemical exposure and affect the health of the lashes). The occasional swim is totally fine! There are also conditioning mascaras that can be used in-between treatments to help nourish the lashes but they are not required.

The Low Maintenance Summer Lash Treatment: Lash Lift & Tint

Now that we've broken down the difference between lash extensions and lash lifts and tints - we can talk about what we consider to be the best low maintenance lash boost for the summer! While both options could be considered low maintenance for day to day care, lash lifts are best for those who have frequent travel plans, will be busy or out of town for weeks at a time and are traveling to places with extreme temperature changes and fun summer activities. You can wake up with long, bold lashes and go with out worrying about make up or how any of your activities for the day will affect your lashes.

What Is Special About The Products We Use:

Our lash lift line is the Profusion Brow and Lash Lamination line from Elleebana. We love these products because they focus on a gentle lift process with out damaging the lashes and they offer various techniques to suit all eye shapes and lash types. This line uses cysteamine hydrochloride (CHC) vs. thioglycolic acid (TGA) which is more commonly used in quick and dramatic lash lifting solutions. While they both have their benefits, we prefer CHC as it's more gentle in protecting the integrity of the lash structure and provides a softer grow back process. While TGA has always been known for it's quick and dramatic lifts, many more lash process options have been discovered using CHC that allow for a dramatic look with out the increased risk of over processing.

What To Expect During Your Service:

In preparation for your lash lift service, we will ask you to make sure if you wear contacts, to bring your glasses along with you to wear post-service as we cannot perform a lash lift with contacts in. We have disposable contact cases for your convenience and also provide contact solution if needed. We will also ask that all eye make up is removed - we can also do this for you if you are coming straight from an event or work!

We then will perform a consultation in which we will discuss your desired curl/lift result and fit you for the appropriate lash rod and lifting technique. Once this is done, we will cleanse your lashes and dry them. From there we will place eye pads below your lower lashes and gently secure your bottom lashes down with lash tape. This will be removed at the end of the service for tinting! Next, depending on which technique is being used, we will either begin the first process in which we soften the lashes in preparation to shape them to your desired curl rod or we will secure your lashes to the rod first with a balm and then begin the first process of softening. Once this process is complete, we start step two which will set your lashes into place. The final step will be tinting and rinsing. At the end of your service, we will remove your lash rods and undereye pads, rinse your lashes and fluff them with a fan and spoolie. Finally, a conditioning mascara is applied and you are done!

When Can You Rebook

You can rebook as soon as every 6 weeks but some find their lift lasts a bit longer so every 8 - 12 weeks is an options as well. For a refresh in between services, you can come in for just a tint ($11-$21)to keep your lashes dark.

We are excited to help you achieve your best summer lash look! Please reach out to us with any questions or to help figure out the best option for you!
